Ms. Teresa Madill

Secretary

I was born the middle child out of 10 children, in the First District of Manila, the Philippines. I was raised near the biggest Refugee Processing Zone in Asia at the time. Growing up, Carlos P. Romulo, a Filipino Secretary-General of the United Nations, Philippine General, and journalist became my great principled example of lifelong advocate of the common people.

After getting my Certified Teachers Board credentials, I immigrated to Canada in the early 90s, the first in my family to do so. Alone in a foreign country, I found strength in the faith of my ancestors, their steadfast faith in challenging times. I am a follower of the Lord Christ Jesus and the powerful wisdom contained in the Holy Scriptures. My journey has been driven by a deep calling to health, education and humanitarian work. I serve people of all communities in need, across genders, cultures, ethnicities, generations and languages through CELEBRATIONS (Choices, Exercise, Liquids, the Environment, Belief, Rest, Air, Temperance, Integrity, Optimism, Nutrition, and Social Support). I implement principles from CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program); NEWSTART, and Depression and Anxiety Recovery principles emphasized by Nedley Health Solutions. I have been a longtime Secretary to the Board of Directors at IMSS; and ADVENTIST DEVELOPMENT AND RELIEF AGENCY (ADRA) Ambassador since 2007.

My goal has always been to assist in building partnerships to relieve poverty, improve health and education, the environment, and incorporate UNDRIP in my humanitarian work with the Indigenous Peoples and citizens for a better world.
